How to Make Your Own Custom Stickers at Home
Making your own stickers is a fun way to bring your art, doodles, or designs to life—and honestly, once you start, it’s kind of addictive. Whether you want to create stickers for your sketchbook, laptop, water bottle, or to sell in your own shop, you don’t need a fancy studio setup to get started.
Here’s how I make my custom stickers at home, plus the tools I recommend to help you do it too!
🖤 1. Start with Your Design
I usually draw my stickers in Procreate on my iPad, but you can use any digital tool or even scan a hand-drawn design. The key is creating a high-resolution image (300 DPI is ideal) with a transparent background if possible.

🖨 2. Print Your Stickers
A good quality printer makes a huge difference. I use a color inkjet printer with photo-quality printing to get vibrant, crisp stickers. Pair it with glossy or matte sticker paper depending on the vibe you want.
👉 Amazon picks:
Inkjet printer for sticker making - I use a Canon Pixma iX6820, but it’s no longer available and this one is comparable.
Glossy printable sticker paper - I use this for all my glossy stickers!
Matte printable sticker paper - These work great for my print label stickers!
✂ 3. Cut Your Stickers
This is where tools like a Cricut shine—they let you cut out your designs cleanly and quickly. I use a Cricut with a light grip mat for sticker paper so it peels off easily without tearing.
👉 Amazon picks:
If you’re just starting out, scissors or a craft knife work fine too—it’s just more time-consuming.
🕸 4. Seal for Extra Durability (Optional)
If you want your stickers to last longer (or stand up to light moisture), you can seal them with a clear laminate sheet or spray.

🎨 5. Have Fun + Experiment
The best part of making your own stickers is customizing them to your style. Try layering designs, adding washi tape borders, or creating themed sets. I love playing with my spooky cute designs and coming up with new sticker sheets.
